How EFT Explored 

EFT was explored in the early 1980s by American psychologist Dr.Roger Callahan and later developed by Physics engineer Gary Craig.

Dr.Roger Callahan, while searching for to find a solution to his patient’s water phobia, he observed that when the stomach meridians were touched, the abdominal pain the patient caused by water phobia disappeared. After realized that, he found the Thought Therapy Technique, which is based on hitting different points for different emotions.

After Callahan, Gary Craig says that tapping itself is the most effective action. As the energy flow is activated by tapping, it prevents the stimulation of the brain by making the amygdala which is the part of the limbic system or brain where negative experiences are encoded (or recorded), feel safe. When tapping, the flow of energy neutralizes stress and reprograms the part of the brain called the hippocampus. During the session, even if we are dealing with a stressful or sad memory, the stress is neutralized and reprogrammed in a part of the brain called the hippocampus, as energy flows while tapping.

The ‘tapping’ method applied to acupuncture points to find solutions to psychological problems is a part of the newly developing field called ‘energy psychology’, which is also defined as needless acupuncture.
